Profile for Public Directory
A vibrant part of Chicago’s cultural scene, Liz began her career as a spry 15 year old Anthropology intern at the Field Museum. With time, her innovative approaches to public education created opportunities for positions at other major museums where her work focused on curating exhibitions and public programs. An award-winning museum professional, Liz continues collaborating with global cultural institutions while regularly traveling the country giving lectures at museums (including the National Museum of American History) and centers of higher education (such as Harvard University). She was a featured speaker at the Chicago Humanities Festival: Power during the Fall of 2019.
While Liz offers private and custom general city tours in both English and Spanish, she is a renowned beer and tavern historian who specializes in exploring history and culture through the lens of alcohol. An early pioneer in the field of beer history studies, her work has served as an international model for museum professionals, beer scholars, and tour providers. She is the only American ever to have been invited to join the Society of Pub Historians of the United Kingdom (bloody brilliant!). Liz is also the founder of the Chicago Brewseum, America’s first non-profit museum dedicated to telling the global story of beer.
Liz also leads private custom group tours in major cities and countries around the world.
