10:00 a.m. - Monday, March 22
Come and explore the Hull House Museum in this virtual program open to Chicago Tour-Guide Professional Assn (CTPA) members and their guests.

Learn about the conditions immigrants faced in the 19th Ward of Chicago, the unique work of the Hull-House residents, the life and work of Jane Addams (1860-1935), and the lasting impact of the Hull-House Settlement. Knowing our audience of tour professionals, we have asked that the topics covered include the neighborhood and how it changed over time, who lived there, the origins of the historic 1856 home turned museum that we call Hull House, how many buildings Hull House Settlement encompassed at its largest, the activities at Hull House (plays, salons, Fiestaware making) as well as the early and adult life of Jane Addams, including her relationship with "Aunt Mary".
The museum educators ask that all participants keep their cameras on and bring a lot of questions to make this a lively interactive event! They will operate the Zoom meeting, taking us on a 360 degree tour as if entering the museum and visiting it room-by-room. This is possible due to new 360 degree tour software (see the link at the end) along with high quality close-up images and the knowledge of the presenters who relate the stories behind the artifacts and photographs.
Before we sign off, participants will get a chance to watch a 20-minute video that is not available to view on line. This video is often shown prior to an in-person visit to Hull House and should serve as a nice reminder of the key points of Jane Addams life and her work at Hull House and as preparation for your next group visit to the museum.
The session will be recorded, except for the video mentioned in the paragraph above, which cannot be taped due to its licensing rights.
A few days following the event, CTPA members will be sent a written summary of the event and the link to watch the program for the first time or for a second time.
Be sure to RSVP at least 24 hours prior to the start of the event, so you are sure to get the emailed link to participate.
