CTPA - The Great Cable Car Debate - San Francisco - WED AUG 25

  • 25 Aug 2021
  • 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Virtual Presentation

Registration

Registration is closed

This two-part event on consecutive Wednesdays is our first collaboration with another guide association in the USA:  Members of both the San Francisco Tour Guide Guild (SFTGG) and the Chicago Tour-Guide Professionals Assn (CTPA) will be in the audience, logging on in their respective time zones at 5:00pm Pacific time or 7:00pm Central Time.

It should prove exceptionally educational and enjoyable as authors/presenters from San Francisco and Chicago face off to share and compare the history and impact of cable car systems on their respective cities -- with a friendly competition between who ruled, who had/has bragging rights, etc.  As will be revealed, there are several connections between the tales of the two cities that will be developed for the talks.

Part 1 on Wednesday, August 25 (5pm in San Francisco and 7pm in Chicago) begins with Emeliano Echeveria, San Francisco native and long time SFMTA employee, telling the more well known story of the still operating cable car lore and routes of his city.

You must register for this event to get the registration link emailed to you about 24 hours prior to the virtually meeting start.

ZOOM will be used for this virtual presentation. We request that everyone register at least 24 hours in advance as that is when log-in information will be emailed to those who are registered.  There may be a delay in sending log-on information to those who register later.

Please log on 5 minutes before the start time. The waiting room will be used and every attempt will be made to start on time.  We reserve the right to deny entry to late comers who are more than 10 minutes late logging on.
