A big tourism trend is showcasing special, one-of-a-kind locations that are off the beaten path, and The Plant is an excellent option to feature on your tour routes! The building opened in 1925 as a meatpacking operation converting in the 21st century into a unique research and production facility focused on sustainable farming. Here are some highlights on this free, guided tour of The Plant:

After the tour, CTPA members can hang out and get to know each other better in the building's Whiner Beer Co. Taproom. Many of their beverage offerings are produced on-site, and the BBQ is quite good! Mixer participants pay for their food and drinks.
