Almost everyone knows that Thomas Jefferson as the primary author of the Declaration of Independence was ably assisted in the editing and writing by Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. Lesser known are the two other members of the “Committee of Five,” Founding Fathers Robert Livingston of New York and Roger Sherman of Connecticut. Renowned historian and member of the Guide Association of New York City (GANYC), Kevin Draper, will discuss the contributions of these two figures to the Declaration of Independence and their other contributions to our fledgling Nation. Join us for a NFTGA-sponsored free webinar on Tuesday, June 30, 7:30 pm, EDT. Please disseminate information about this session to both tour guide association members and non- members as we approach the 250th observance of our Great Nation. Giant mural by John Trumbull in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol. A likeness of this famous painting appears on the back of the $2 dollar bill with Jefferson on the front, and in the pediment directly above the entrance to the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C.
If you are unable to attend the live-stream, the recording will be available to watch for the following 30 days and that recording link will be sent to your designated tour guide association contact(s). If you have any feedback, including changes to the contact information for future NFTGA Education Programs, please email Mike McMains (mike@tourswithmike.com) from the Chicago Tour Guide Professionals Association.
